FAQ

Questions and answers

Why do I need to log in to Strava?

Strava now shows GPS data only to logged-in users. You sign in on Strava's own website (strava.com) inside the app, so your password goes directly to Strava. The app never sees or stores it, and you can log out at any time. Just curious? Tap Demo to try the app without an account.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Your activities are read from strava.com with your own login and analyzed on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to the developer: there is no account with us, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Files you export go only where you choose. Read the privacy policy for the details.

How does Apple Health work with the app?

It's optional. If an activity has no heart rate on Strava but your Apple Watch or chest strap saved heart rate to Apple Health at the same time, tap Get heart rate from Apple Health. The app asks for read-only access to heart rate, uses it only for the analysis on your iPhone and never saves or shares it. You can turn access off in the Health app or in Settings.

What do I get for free?

GPX and CSV export of the full activity, the map, stats, elevation profile and GPS points, demo mode, and every report for the first 10 minutes of any activity. Activities of 10 minutes or less are fully analyzed for free. Pro unlocks the analysis and the AI prompt for the full length of every activity.

How does the free trial work?

Monthly and yearly both start with 2 weeks free, with full access to Pro. There is one free trial per Apple Account, whichever plan you pick. If you allow notifications, the app reminds you 3 days and 1 day before the trial ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends and you pay nothing; otherwise the plan you chose starts and is charged to your Apple Account.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Strava to Data and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid being charged for the next one. You keep Pro until the period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

I bought Pro on another iPhone. How do I get it back?

Sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore Purchases in Your profile in the app (or on the Pro screen). Subscriptions are tied to your Apple Account, not to a login with us.

Is this an official Strava app?

No. Strava to Data: GPX & Stats is made by an independent developer and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Strava, Inc.
